Terms
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms cover booking a space, listing one, and buying or selling tickets to an event. By creating an account or making a booking you agree to them.
Draft, pending legal review. These terms describe how BYBhub actually works today and the fees it actually charges, but they have not yet been reviewed by a solicitor. When they change, the date at the top changes with them.
1.Who you are contracting with
BYBhub is operated by BYBhub Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17429997), registered office Flat 4, Netherby House, Union Road, London SW8 2SA, United Kingdom. “BYBhub”, “we” and “us” mean that company. “You” means the person using the site.
You can reach us at info.bookyourbooth@gmail.com.
2.What BYBhub is, and is not
BYBhub is a marketplace. We list spaces, services and events that other people own and run, we take the payment, and we pass it on. We are not the provider of any space, the employer of any engineer, or the organiser of any event listed by someone else.
When you book a room, your agreement about that room — what is in it, what condition it is in, what happens if it is not as described — is with the host. Our agreement with you is this one: that the listing shows what the host told us, that the booking is held, and that the money moves correctly.
Where BYBhub itself runs an event, the listing says so and we are the organiser for that event.
3.Your account
- You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
- The details on your account must be accurate, and you must keep them up to date — a booking confirmation goes to the address on file.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
- One person, one account. A business may hold an account, operated by a named person.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used to mislead other members, or is used for anything unlawful.
4.Bookings
A booking is confirmed when payment has been taken and the host has accepted it. Rooms marked for instant booking are accepted automatically. Until it is confirmed, the hours are held for you but not yet yours.
The full address of a space is released only once a booking is confirmed. Listings show the area and an approximate position on the map, not the door. This protects hosts who work from home or from a shared building.
Times shown are local to the space. Arrive and leave within your booked hours: rooms are turned around between sessions, and overrunning takes time from whoever booked next.
5.Prices and fees
Hosts set their own prices, in their own currency. Any price shown to you in another currency is a conversion for guidance, not a second price — you are charged in the space’s own currency.
- Guests pay a service fee of 10% on top of the room rate. It is shown separately before you pay. Members save 10% on every booking: the service fee is taken off at checkout as a BYBhub members discount, so members pay the room rate only — see plans.
- Hosts pay commission of 10% of the room rate, deducted before payout. A member guest’s waived booking fee does not come out of the host’s side: hosts are paid exactly the same either way.
- Ticket buyers pay a service fee of 10%, shown separately before you pay. Members pay none: it is taken off at checkout as a BYBhub members discount. Free tickets are free, with nothing added.
- Event organisers on a free plan pay 10% commission on ticket sales. Organisers who are members pay no commission, only a small fixed contribution of about 1.7% plus 20p per order toward the cost of moving the money.
The fee that applies is the one in force when you pay, and it is recorded against that booking. If we change our fees, bookings already made are unaffected.
6.Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. BYBhub takes the payment and routes the host’s share to their connected Stripe account. For some spaces BYBhub collects the whole payment itself and pays the space directly; the space is still the provider of the room. Your card details are given to Stripe directly and never reach BYBhub’s systems.
A space cannot take bookings until its host has completed Stripe’s identity and bank checks, or, where BYBhub collects the payment itself, until BYBhub has. Your card is charged in full when you book. Hosts are paid out by Stripe on its normal schedule.
7.Cancellations and refunds
Each space carries one of three cancellation policies, chosen by its host and shown on the listing before you book. What you get back depends on which one applies and how far ahead you cancel:
- Flexible — Full refund up to 24 hours before.
- Moderate — Full refund up to 3 days before, 50% after.
- Strict — 50% up to 7 days before, nothing after.
Refunds are returned to the card used. Service fees are refunded in the same proportion as the booking.
If a host cancels a confirmed booking, you are refunded in full, whatever the policy on the listing says.
None of this affects any statutory right you have as a consumer.
8.Events and tickets
Tickets are sold by the organiser named on the event, not by BYBhub, except where BYBhub is itself the organiser.
- An organiser must give at least 7 days’ notice to cancel an event through the site.
- If an event is cancelled, every ticket is refunded in full, including the service fee.
- Tickets are not transferable through the site, and we do not operate a resale market.
- A ticket does not entitle you to entry if you are asked to leave for behaviour covered by clause 10.
9.If you host
By listing a space, a service or an event, you confirm that:
- You have the right to let the space, or to sell the service or tickets.
- The listing is accurate — the room, its equipment, its capacity, its access arrangements and its availability.
- You hold whatever insurance, licences and permissions the activity needs. BYBhub does not insure your space, your equipment or your guests.
- The space meets the health, safety and accessibility obligations that apply to it, and the accessibility details on the listing are true.
- You will honour confirmed bookings, and will tell a guest promptly if something goes wrong.
You keep ownership of the photographs and text you upload. You give BYBhub permission to show them on the site and to use them to promote your listing while it is live.
A listing can only go live once payout details are complete. We may draft, pause or remove a listing that is inaccurate, unsafe, repeatedly cancelled, or the subject of serious complaints.
10.Behaviour
You agree not to use BYBhub to:
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone.
- Misrepresent who you are, or what you are booking a space for.
- Take bookings or payments off the platform to avoid fees, after making contact through it.
- Scrape, copy or republish other people’s profiles, listings or contact details.
- Do anything unlawful on, or with, a booked space.
Messages sent through the site are private between the people in the conversation. We may read a conversation where we need to investigate a report, a dispute or a payment problem.
11.Reviews
Reviews may only be left by someone who completed the booking they are reviewing. Write honestly and about your own experience.
We do not edit reviews to make a listing look better. We remove reviews that are abusive, contain personal details, or are not about the booking.
12.Membership
Membership is billed in advance and renews until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan runs to the end of the period already paid for, and benefits stop then.
Benefits are listed on the plans page. Where a benefit depends on availability — a free place at one of our own events, for instance — it is subject to that availability.
13.If something goes wrong
Tell the other party first, through the site, so there is a record. If that does not resolve it, contact us and we will help where we can. For money that has moved, we can refund through Stripe; for a dispute about the space itself, we can mediate but we are not a party to that agreement.
14.Our liability
We do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Beyond that, and because we are an intermediary rather than the provider of the space: we are not liable for the condition, safety or suitability of a space, for an event that does not happen as described, or for anything that passes between two members. Where we are liable, our liability in connection with any one booking is limited to the total paid for that booking.
We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee it is uninterrupted or error-free.
15.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes will be notified to account holders by email. Bookings already made are governed by the terms in force when they were made.
16.Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy notice.
